Production introduction:

Precipitated silica is produced through the reaction of sodium silicate with sulfuric acid. The slurry is filtered, washed and dried to yield the finished silica. Variables such as temperature, agitating speed, solid contents and aging time can be modified to create various grades of silica with specific qualities. Key characteristics of precipitated silica are its dispersability in polymers, its reinforcement properties and its purity.

ZC-185MP is a easily dispersion, high purity precipitated silica.

High-grade silica is used to improve the mechanical and dynamic properties of synthetic rubbers. Once generic filler in elastomers, precipitated silica is now a critical reinforcement filler in “green” tires and a strategic raw material for tyre manufacturers. It significantly improves performance in rolling resistance and wet grip, reduces braking distance and fuel consumption, and is inert and more environmentally friendly than Other fillers. The use of this “white carbon” thereby helps tyre manufacturers to meet the new European labelling standards.
